" But how can it be only the freedom of choice or action undetermined or determined by instinct? How can it then be defended so fiercely that freedom's sake and irrational? But perhaps this is the product of a romantic indeterminism man who claims the ability to choose also against all the circumstances, and this is still good, why move against that inhuman determinism that considers man like a pigeon. The problem is that we have lost the root of this brave freedom, human freedom. In fact what it claims is the free will (of course at very low levels and unknowingly, but it is), ie the possibility to choose their own good, with the only problem that you do not know this well. In other words, we feel this need to Freedom with a capital L, but taught us to close it by adding small freedoms such as the miniskirt. But then there exists or there is great freedom as we do? Yes, just look in history. The concept of freedom as free will, in fact, appears for the first time with the Judeo-Christian culture, that is when the time is given a meaning, when presented with the prospect of an ultimate good for human life. All this for the ancients (Greeks, Etruscans, Romans, etc..) Does not exist. We know the pessimism of all cultures that we can define BC (except the already anticipated that Jewish Christianity): For all the man is bottom chained to a life of ills that may not even know the cause and whose destiny is irrevocably determined by Fate. Only by Christ on (or the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and later) the man has the prospect of a good destiny to choose from, namely free will. The word "freedom" (that already existed with political meaning in classical) states, then not only the power to choose, meaning that over, but happy life becomes a sharing to the extent that choose to participate, thereby becoming free from the circumstances. And it is this freedom that we are slowly removing uprooted from tradition and modeled after the consumer products.
